Adv. Thokozani Mvelase
Adv Thokozani Mvelase is the CEO of COMRiC. He is a Certified Fraud Examiner and a Commercial Fraud Practitioner with over 2-decades experience in Forensic Investigations and Risk Management. Thokozani holds a BCom Law from University of Johannesburg and a LLB from Wits University.
Amongst his career professional experience, Thokozani worked as a Special Investigator for the Directorate of Special Operations (Previously known as the “SCORPIONS” under the National Prosecuting Authority). He received training at the FBI Academy in Quantico Washington. Thokozani is no stranger to the telecommunications sector, having worked for one of the Telco companies in SA for over 11 years as Group Executive Enterprise Risk Management.
As the CEO of COMRiC, Thokozani is tasked to build a collective action infrastructure industry body to fight crime and risk affecting the telecommunications Industry and also where the Industry infrastructure is used as a conduit to commit various crimes.
Board of Directors
COMRiC is governed by a Board of Directors, which is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the Strategic Priorities in pursuit of achieving its objectives. The Board holds decision-making power and is ultimately responsible for the oversight of the development and implementation of COMRiC’s Value Proposition and Organisational Purpose.
The Board comprises of representatives of the founding member organisations and is chaired by an Independent Non-Executive. This brings multiple perspectives to bear in discussion and debate, ensuring robust oversight and strategic decision-making.
The Board is responsible to strategically direct and promote a stakeholder-inclusive approach to governance. The Board further appreciates that strategy, risk, performance and sustainability are inseparable and that they are required to provide effective leadership on an ethical foundation.
